Kochi: India will take on Australia in the finals of the ICC 2023 ODI World Cup at Narendra Modi stadium at Ahmedabad on November 19.
It was two decades back the two countries had met in the finals at Johannesburg in 2003 when Australia defeated India to lift the World Cup.
India and Australia began their quest for the 2023 World Cup in Chennai.
Meanwhile, Australia entered the finals beating South Africa by 3 wickets at Eden Gardens today.
Winning the toss, South Africa decided to bat, but fumbled by losing early wickets. They were all out for 212 in 49.4 overs.
Miller made 101 and Klaasen 47. For Australia, Starc, and Cummins claimed 3 wickets each, while Hazlewood and Head 2 each.
Chasing the winning target of 213, Australia made 215 with 16 balls to spare losing seven wickets.
For Australia, Head made 62, Smith 30, Warner 29. For South Africa, Coetzee and Shamsi took two wickets each.
