India won the toss and elected to bat to make 198 for 8.
Hardik made 51 in 31 balls and took 4/33.
S Yadav made 39, Hooda 33 and Rohit Sharma 24.
Hardik became only the fourth player among cricket playing nations to score a 50 and take four wickets in a T20I match.
For England Jordan, Moin Ali took wickets each.
Playing second, England could make only 148 in 19.3 overs.
Moin Ali made 36, Brrok 28, Jordan 26 and Malan made 21.
H Pandya took 4 for 33, A Singh 2/18 and 2 for 32.
