Pinarayi dumps Swapna’s allegations

Kochi: In his typical style, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today evaded queries on allegations made by gold smuggling accused Swapna Suresh.
Pinarayi said that he had made clarification on earlier occasions. Pinarayi said he was not a person whose character would get tarnished
by such allegations.
He said central investigation agencies could not find anything against him and people had rubbished all these allegations and voted the party back to power. When asked about Pinarayi responding late to Swapna’s allegations,  he mocked a reporter by asking if he was new to the state.

Referring to the attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s office, Vijayan said no one in the party had justified it. Police had arrested 24 accused in the case, he said.
He said the UDF was trying to create anarchy in the state in the name of Waynad issue.
Referring to the action against social activist Teesta Setalvad and former Gujarat DGP Sreekumar, Pinarayi Vijayan accused Congress of going soft on the aftermath of Gujarat riots.
Congress was adopting tactics to appease voters belonging to the majority community in Gujarat. He targeted Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party leader Rahul Gandhi
of not reacting against the issues in Gujarat.
Pinarayi criticised Congress leader and Opposition Leader V D Satheeshan warning to flush out a journalist during a press conference.
