Kochi: Kerala government is likely to act on Monday on proceeding against Opposition Leader Pinarayi Vjayan, and son in law Mohammed Riyas, MLA, in alleged bribery cases.
The government has got legal advice that there is sufficient grounds to book the two after the Directorate of Enforcement seeking DGP to act against them.
The legal advice says that there is prima facie evidence to act against them in the CMRL Exalogic bribery case.
The ED had alleged that Pinarayi’s daughter Veena T had received Rs3.18 crore on behalf of Pinarayi Vijayan even as the money was paid as remuneration for services not rendered by Veena’s defunct IT company, Asianet news reported.
The legal advice says that FIR can be lodged for getting money under disproportionate sources of income under Prevention of Corruption Act.
