Messi scam turns murkier

Kochi: The fictitious Messi event is getting murkier with previous Left Government’s role becoming controversial for spotting Anto Augustine sponsor.
BJP leader Shone George has accused Anto of falsely claiming to be promoter of Reporter Broadcasting Company (RBC) even as another person is its real promoter.
Anto is unable to produce an official authorisation empowering him to sign the agreement with Argentina Football Association to organise a match in Kochi participated by Lionel Messi, Mathrubhumi reported.
Kerala Police have intensified probe into the alleged sponsorship fraud in connection with a botched plan to bring Messi and others to Kochi.
The police is investigating Anto’s capacity to sign the agreement have failed to find documents to prove Anto was the chairman or managing director of RBC.
