Kochi: A 22-year-old medical student Savariya
from Alappuzha in Kerala was allegedly killed by a classmate Sadharul Anam in Uzbekistan.
Savariya, a native of Pilappuzha in Haripad in Alappuzha, was banged on the head with a laptop
by Anam, a native of Malappuram four days back.
The accused was reportedly taken into custody by Uzbek police.
She was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries but later succumbed to complications caused by haemorrhage, Manorama news reported.
Further details about the investigation were awaited.
Savaria’s body was brought to New Delhi on Tuesday. It is expected to be flown to Kochi before being taken to her hometown in Alappuzha for the last rites.
