Kochi: Celebrity actors Mohanlal, Mammootty and Kamal Haasan added glory to the Keraleeyam 2023 held to mark formation of Kerala amidst financial crunch at Thiruvananthapuram today.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi inaugurated the event amidst the government struggling to even foot fuel bills of police vehicles, media reports said.
Actors Shobana, Manju Warrier, entrepreneurs and representatives from different countries were present at the ki inaugural function which aims to showcase the rich history and achievements of the state.
Twentfive seminars, 10 exhibitions, book fairs, and flower shows have been organised.
The government is planning to make it an annual tradition, uniting people in the celebration of Kerala’s heritage and achievements.
Meanwhile, the government is receiving brick bats for allocating Rs 4 crore for the promotion of the event.
An amount of Rs 30,50,000 has been allocated for social media pushing and promotion.
Other allocations are Rs 15 lakh for digital marketing, Rs 50,000 for Keraleeyam page promotion, Rs 6 lakh for managing Facebook and Instagram among others.
Other expenses are Rs 2 lakh for a counter, Rs 2 lakh for a computer, internet services for Rs 25,000, and accommodation and food for those sitting in the media centre at Rs 11 lakh.
A total of Rs 3 lakhs has been allocated
for national and international media desk and associated operations, the reports said.
