Kochi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Sabarimala gold robbery case took Ex MLA and former TDB president A Padmakumar into SIT custody for questioning on Wednesday, media reports said.
Earlier, Padmakumar was produced before the Inquiry Commissioner and Special Vigilance Judge, Kollam, who remanded Padmakumar to custody of SIT which had sought his custody till Friday.
Padmakumar, who was arrested last week, was in judicial remand at the District Sub Jail in Thiruvananthapuram.
The SIT had named Padmakumar as the eighth accused in the case.
Junior priest-turned-businessman
Unnikrishnan Potti who is the prime accused in the case was first to be arrested.
Former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) officials B Murari Babu, Sudheesh Kumar, former Devaswom Board Commissioner N Vasu are the others arrested in the case.
