Kochi: India defeated Australia by 5 wickets in the first of the three ODIs at Mumbai on Friday. Winning the toss, India decided to field and bowled out the visitors for 188 in 35.4 overs. Mohammad Shami 3/17, Mohammad Siraj 3/17 and Jadeja 2/46 bowled excellently. For Australia, M Marsh made 81 to take the visitors to a respectable total. K L Rahul made unbeaten 75 and Jadeja 45 to take India on the path of victory.
