Kochi: The Crime Branch conducted a raid in the house of former MLA P C George and his son Shaun George in Poonjar in Kottayam in connection with the actor assault case of 2017.
The raid was held in connection with alleged dealings of Shaun with Dileep’s brother, media reports said.
The investigation team has collected some information from the phone of Dileep’s brother about the alleged dealings, the reports said.
The chats in a fake whatsapp group led the police to carry out the raids. Shaun had met Dileep when the actor was in jail in connection with the case in 2017.
The crime branch is believed to have seized fake WhatsApp profiles of Dileep’s ex wife Manju Warrier and DGP B Sandhya who headed the probe initially.
The Crime Branch is believed to be suspecting that the group was formed to prove that a conspiracy was hatched against Dileep who is an accused in the case in which a popular actress was abducted and abused in a vehicle on February 17, 2017. Dileep was arrested in 2017 and released on bail.
