Kochi: The Supreme Court refused bail to Govardhan accused of involvement in gold robbery in the hill shrine of Sabarimala in Kerala as probe into the case is still continuing.
The court also directed that the bail plea can be filed after the charge sheet is submitted.
A jeweler from Bellary in Karnataka, Govardhan had moved the Apex Court challenging the High Court of Kerala denying bail to him.
Govardhan argued that he was fully cooperating with the investigation and that his custody was no longer required.
Govardhan was arrested by police on charges of buying the gold stolen from Sabarimala.
Govardhan’s statement is that he bought the gold after paying Rs 1.5 crore to Unnikrishnan Potty, the prime accused in the case.
