Kochi: Kerala is all set to have the privilege of having the second Vande Bharat Express between Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram from Sunday, media reports said.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to flag off the opening service along with nine other Vande Bharat services across the country on Sunday, the reports said.
The train, which is likely to begin its maiden service from Kasaragod at 11 a.m,
will run through Alappuzha, the reports said.
The regular service is expected to begin on Monday when it will start from Kasaragod at 7 am and reach Thiruvananthapuram Central by 3.05 pm.
It will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 4.05 pm and reach Kasaragod by 11.55 pm. The train will stop at Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam South, Thrissur, Shoranur, Kozhikode and Kannur.
Due to the dearth of platforms at Thiruvananthapuram Central station, it will initially run between Kochuveli and Kasaragod. The first Vande Bharat in the State runs between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasaragod via Kottayam. It is one of the profitable services in the country.
