Kochi: Cricket world is making a mockery of the selection committee for picking injured all-rounder Hardik Pandya for the match against Pakistan. An outstanding match-winner, Pandya has played meticulously to fetch numerous victories which would have been otherwise won by the rival teams.
But that cannot be a deciding factor while choosing a side to take on a team like Pakistan which can beat any team on the field. That too at a time when Pakistan has come with an enriched and young team.
Former Pakistan captain and fiery batsman Inzamam ul Haq has expressed surprise over the selection of India team, mainly the inclusion of Hardik Pandya. Speaking on his youtube channel, Haq said it was pathetic to see a Pandya frequently nursing his injury, which was demotivating for other team members. Such things give advantage to the other team in international cricket.
He said he had seen Sachin Tendulkar not showing any inkling of his injury. Pandya did not field or bowl in the match against Pakistan putting Kohli on the back foot. He said India also blundered by including only five bowlers.
