Kochi: Estranged Aam Aadmi Party MPSwati Maliwal today opposed granting bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Private Secretary Bibhav Kumar who was arrested for allegedly assaulting her, media reports said.
Maliwal told a Delhi court which was hearing a bail plea of Bibhav that allowing bail to him would be a security threat to Swathi and her family. She started weeping when Bhibhav’s lawyer claimed that the injuries she claimed to have sustained from Bibhav alleged assault were self inflicted.
On the contrary, Bibhav’s lawyer said that the probe conducted by the Delhi Police was not fair and accused Swathi of trespassing into the Chief Minister’s residence. The court had once rejected his bail plea.
Maliwal had accused Bibhav Kumar of assaulting her at the Chief Minister’s residence on May 13 when she had gone to meet Kejriwal. The medical report also confirmed that she had sustained injuries.
