Kochi: Indigo Airlines’ bus operating in Kozhikode airport was impounded by the transport department for defaulting on tax payment.
An arrears of six months is pending against the airlines. The bus was seized when it was being repaired in a workshop at Chungam near Feroke.
The bus would be released only if the arrears are cleared, media reports quoting sources said.
The amount including tax and penalty is said to be over Rs 40,000.
The RTO had issued the order to seize the bus.
Incidentally, Indigo had imposed a travel ban on LDF convener E P Jayarajan for manhandling two Youth Congress workers inside an Indigo aircraft a few days back.
Following this the Indigo had imposed a three week ban on Jayarajan who shot back saying that he would never travel in it in future.
A ban was also imposed on the two leaders who had raised slogans against Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan during the flight.
