Kochi: In a daring encounter in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu police nabbed robbers who looted Rs 65 lakh from three ATMs in Thrissur in Kerala in the wee hours of Friday, media reports said.
The robbers were nabbed while they were shifting the car, used for carrying out the robbery, into a container lorry.One suspect was killed and another injured in the encounter while two cops sustained injuries.Kumarapalayam Police Inspector Thavamani and Pallipalayam Police Assistant Inspector Ranjith were injured.Earlier, the container lorry collided with a few vehicles leading to police launching a hunt for it which was spotted on the National Highway.
The accused were involved in similar heists in Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad.  The accused carried out the robbery between 2.30 am and 4 am when they entered the ATMs wearing masks and disabled cameras.They robbed Rs 30 lakh from Mapranam, Rs 25 lakh from Kolazhy and Rs 9.5 lakh from Shornur road.
