Kochi: A total of 102 Pakistan nationals camping in Kerala are getting ready to leave the country after India issued an ultimatum to all those from the neighbouring country to quit India by April 29, media reports said.
Nearly half of them are on medical visas for treatment while some are on business-related matters.
The decision of the Indian government was communicated to them through Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
There are over 200 Pakistani nationals currently residing in Tamil Nadu.
India had suspended all categories of visa services for Pakistan nationals after the Pahalgam terror strike that claimed 25 lives.
The Indian government has also advised its citizens to avoid travelling to Pakistan until further notice.
According to the latest directive, all visas issued to Pakistanis will be considered expired as of April 27 except those on medical visas.
There are no restrictions on long-term visas issued to Pakistani Hindu nationals.
The Border Security Force (BSF) has suspended the daily retreat ceremonies jointly conducted with the Pakistan Rangers at the Attari, Hussainiwala, and Sadki border points in Punjab.
