Kochi: State-run oil marketing companies were on Monday directed by the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to uniformly implement a 25-day inter-refill booking interval for domestic LPG consumers across both urban and rural areas.
In a letter dated September 7, the Ministry directed Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd implement the directives immediately.
The decision was taken following considerable reduction in refill backlogs compared with the situation that developed due the war in West Asia in February 2026.
