BJP shines in Gujarat local polls

Kochi: The BJP proved its popularity leaving Congress and Aam Aadmi Party far behind in the Local bodies elections in Gujarat.
The BJP won 158 out of 192 seats in Ahmedabad, 115 out of 120 in
Surat, 65 out of 72 in Rajkot, 69 out of 76 seats in Vadodara, 44 out of 52 in Bhavnagar, 43 out of 52 in Karmasad-Anand, 41 out of 52 in Gandhidham, 51 out of 52 In Nadiad, 50 out of 52 in Navsari
Municipal Corporations.

While the BJP won all 52 seats each in Porbandar and Morbi, the saffron party won 51 out of 52 in
Surendranagar, 47 out of 52 in Mehsana, 37 out of 52 in Vapi, 54 out of 64 in Jamnagar.
BJP won 1,791 seats 2,030 in 84 municipalities, Congress 414 and others 144.
In 34 district panchayats BJP won 568 seats out of 1,090 seats, Congress 77 and others 30.
Out of 5,234 seats in taluka panchayats, BJP secured 2,397 seats. Congress 591, others 329.
