Kochi: Controversial cop C L Sudheer was suspended after the Chief Minister talked with the parents of Mofiya who committed suicide alleging dowry and police harrasment.
Pinarayi Vijayan talked to Mofiya’s father and mother over phone and assured them of a suitable action against Sudheer who ill treated Mofiya when she went to police station.
Mofiya accused Sudheer of harassing her in front of her husband and inlaws in the police station.
Instead of addressing the harassment issue, Sudheer allegedly scolded Mofiya’s father for not giving dowry to his son-in-law.
Sudheer had reached Ernakulam rural after being transferred for dereliction of duty in Kollam.
A tainted official with a very poor track record, Sudheer escaped suspension after higher police authorities ignored Kollam SP Harishankar’s recommendation.
Sudheer had tried to scuttle the Uttara murder case in which her husband had used a snake to kill her.
Sudheer ignored the induced snake bite theory but the timely intervention of higher authorities helped crack the case by preserving the snake.
Sudheer allegedly forced the police to transport 17 kms the bodies of a couple, who died unnatural death, to his house site for putting his signature on the inquest report.
