Kochi: The Delhi Police on Monday arrested AltNews co-founder Mohammed Zubair on the basis of a complaint of a Twitter user who found a tweet of Zubair hurtful.
The police registered an FIR based on the complaint received against his tweet allegedly hurting religious sentiments. They filed an FIR under IPC sections 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups) and 295-A (malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings).
Alt-News co-founder Prateek Sinha posted a tweet saying that there was lack of clarity in the motive of the police.
Meanwhile, Delhi police said that Zubair had earlier made an objectionable tweet.
