Kochi: Kerala’s first case under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) 2023 was registered against a Karnataka native in Malappuram district for rash driving of two wheeler and not wearing a helmet at Kondotty in Malappuram district, media reports said.
The case was booked against Mohammad Shafi of Coorg under crime number 936 at 12.19 am in the wee hours of Monday.
He was going to Kozhikode from Palakkad. Shami was released after serving a notice on him.
Country’s first case was registered in New Delhi.
