Kochi: Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan today accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of making intervention seeking extension of Kannur University Vice-Chancellor.
Addressing reporters at Thiruvananthapuram, Khan said Pinarayi wrote three letters and visited in person to recommend for his candidature.
The Advocate General was sent to give legal advice in support of Pinarayi with the Governor not asking for it, he said.
It was following this the Governor told the Chief Minister about his desire to quit as chancellor of universities.
Referring to his allegations that attempts were made to harm him during the History Conference at Kannur in December in 2021, the Governor accused Chief Minister’s personal secretary K K Ragesh of preventing the police from booking those who posed threat to him.
He also showed the video clips of the history Congress to prove his charges.
