Kochi: Former Government Chief Whip P C George was today arrested after a Thiruvananthapuram court canceled his conditional bail granted in a hate speech case delivered a few days back.
George was first arrested by the Palarivattom police for another hate speech made at a temple function in Vennala in Ernakulam the other day.
Later, he was handed over to the police from Thiruvananthapuram.
George had secured an interim anticipatory bail from Kerala High Court in the Vennala speech case until May 26.
On the way to the state capital, George was taken to the Ernakulam General Hospital after he encountered health problems.
BJP state president K Surendran and Shobha Surendran expressed their support to George.
Activists of BJP and PDP raised slogans for and against George.
