Kochi: Kerala High Court has allowed two young women to live as partners against the will of their parents.
Adila Nazrine, 23 of Aluva had filed a Habeas Corpus petition seeking permission to live with her female lover Fathima Noora, 23, of Thamarassery in Kozhikode.
Adila had moved the court accusing her female lovers’ parents of forcefully taking her away to her home against her will.
She contended that the Supreme Court had ruled in favour of women in similar case.
The two were living in Adila’s relative’s house in Aluva from where Fathima’s parents and other relatives took her away by force.
Adila had made her demands before the media a few days back.
They came into acquaintance while studying in a school in Saudi Arabia. Later, they fell in love which came to the notice of the women’s families who tried to break their relationship which forced Adila to move the court.
