Kochi: India defeated Netherlands convincingly by 56 runs in 23rd of the 45 super 12 T 20 World Cup in Sydney today.
Winning the toss, India decided to field which turned out in its favour as it made 172 runs losing two wickets.
In reply Netherlands were 123 for 9. Kohli made a brilliant 62 not out backed by Surya Kumar Yadav 51 not out.
Captain Rohit Sharma made 53.
For Netherlands, Klassen and Merkran took one wicket each. Netherlands batsmen could not endure the attack. Pringle made 29, Meekran 14 not out and S Ahmed 16 not out.
For India A Singh, B Kumar, A Patel and R Ashwin took two wickets each.
