Kochi: India eves won maiden gold in the women’s Fours Lawn Bowls game defeating South Africa 17-10 in the finals at the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham on Tuesday.
The other gold of today was won by men’s table tennis team defeating Singapore 3-1.
The country won its fifth gold medal of the Games. Weightlifter Vikas Thakur won a silver medal in the men’s 96kg final.
In Athletics, Murali Sreeshankar and Muhammed Anees Yahiya have qualified for the men’s long jump final. Star shot-putter Manpreet Kaur has qualified for the final.
India have so far won three gold, three silver and bronze medals.
