Kochi: Kicking up the campaign for Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct a roadshow in Thrissur on Wednesday.
He will address thousands of people, mainly women in the wake of passing of the women’s reservation Bill.
Actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi, will be another crowd puller as he is touted as party candidate for the Lok Sabha polls.
Modi’s visit comes close on the heels of
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s month-long statewide campaign along with his cabinet colleagues in the Left Government.
Thrissur is one of the few constituencies the BJP has done well.
Popular women include entrepreneur Beena Kannan, actor Shobana, cricketer Minnu Mani, singer Vaikkom Vijayalakshmi are expected to share stage with Modi. The 78-year-old Mariyakkutty, who shot to fame for taking to the street with a begging bowl after she stopped getting old age social security pension, will also be there.
BJP has won just one assembly seat by former union minister O Rajagopal.
