Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the much touted Vande Bharat Express and country’s maiden Water Metro in Kochi from Thiruvananthapuram.
Arriving at the State capital from Kochi by air, Modi took part in a road show before flagging of the Kasargod-bound Vande Bharat.
Modi boarded a few coaches and interacted with the children.
Later, he flaged off India’s first battery operated Water Metro connecting 10 islands around Kochi with Road, Metro train and National Railway network.
Ironically, Kerala Chief Minister had inaugurated the Water Metro in February, 2021 ahead of assembly elections in Kerala.
Earlier, Pinarayi Vijayan, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, MP, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav received Modi on his arrival from Kochi.
