Kochi: Murder of a CPM leader in Palakkad has triggered speculation on the perpetrators’ political identity even as CPM has put the blame on RSS.
While a witness, having affiliation with the CPM, alleged that the killers were CPM activists while some accused the BJP of behind the murder.
Shahjahan, 40, was killed last night after being attacked by a group of about eight people near his house in Kunnangadu.
He was taken to the hospital but he could not be saved, media reports said.
The victim was accused in a political murder case. Police have not made any speculation on the matter and even the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has not accused anyone.
Condemging the murder, Pinarayi expressd condolences and said strong steps would be taken to counter attempts to disturb peace.
The investigation will bring out the criminals before the law, he said.
The CPM secretariat alleged that the RSS was behind the murder. Congress Opposition Leader V D Satheeshan and Congress state chief K Sudhakaran mocked the CPM stand on the matter.
