Kochi: Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, MP, was detained for protesting on many issues on Tuesday when his mother and party president Sonia Gandhi was being questioned by the ED in connection with the National Herald case.
Rahul was arrested at Vijay Chowk near Rajpath near high security Parliament and key government offices.
After about 30 minutes of resistance, police lifted him and other leaders including MPs to the police vehicles.
Before entering the police vehicle, he told reporters that “India is a Police State and Modi-ji is the King”, media reports said.
Those protesting at AICC headquarters were also detained.
Earlier, Sonia Gandhi was accompanied by daughter Priyanka Gandhi to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
