ED notices to Sonia, Rahul

Kochi: Congress Parliamentarians Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case of National Herald.
Sonia Gandhi has been asked to appear on June 8 and party leader Rahul on June 2 in connection with the case.
The Congress claimed that it was part of BJP led government’s political Vendetta. The publication started in 1942 was targeted by the British and now by the BJP, a top Congress leader said.
The debt of the publication was converted into shares to raise money for disbursing arrears of the employees, the party leaders said.
The publication of the Indian National Congress was founded by the late prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru in 1938 which was banned by the British government in 1942 during the Quit India movement.
Due to financial problems, it stopped functioning in 2008 and it was relaunched in 2016  as a digital publication.
