Kochi: Police today arrested Shaiju Thankachan who chased in a luxury car former Miss Kerala Anci Kabeer and Anjana Shajan’s car which crashed killing them.
Shaiu was questioned after the accident and let off. When police summoned him for further questioning, Shaiju failed to appear.
He moved the court seeking anticipatory bail when police detained him and questioned for six hours, media reports said.
Later he was arrested under charges of homicide and chasing women without their permission, reports said.
CCTV visuals showed Shaiju going to the car at normal speed. Twice his car overtook Andy’s car. Later, the speed of both cars increased.
On one occasion, the two cars stopped and Shaiju was found arguing with the driver of the ill-fated car, reports said. Shaiju was an interior designer and used to visit DJ parties regularly.
