speaker-refuses-permission-to-discuss-vandalism

Kochi: The Kerala assembly witnessed strong restrictions on the media during the fifth session of the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly on Monday.
The scribes were not allowed to visit the offices of the ministers, Opposition Leader’s office and other places.
On the other hand the Speaker M B Rajesh said there were no restrictions on the media and blamed it on the watch and ward.
The video proceedings of the assembly were supplied to the media after being edited by the Sabha TV run by the state government.
The assembly was suspended for some time due to protests by the Opposition members as the Speaker refused permission to discuss vandalism of Rahul Gandhi’s Wayanad office allegedly by SFI activists.
The Opposition shouted slogans when Minister M V Govindan was replying to a question during the question hour.
Speaker M B Rajesh warned opposition members for bringing placards and raising banners which are a violation of the rules of the house.
