Kochi: In a shocking incident, a teenager has landed in police custody for allegedly trying to rape a college girl at Kondotty in Malapuram on Monday. The 15-year-old has admitted to have committed the crime, media reports said. He is a resident of the locality. According to police, the boy’s intention was to rape the girl. The incident occurred on Monday noon when the girl was walking on the road when the culprit pounced on her and dragged her to a plantain farm. The accused do not have any antecedence according to cops
He took her there and used force to bring her under his control. When she tried to resist, he hit her with stones on her face, media reports said. The girl somehow managed to escape from the clutches of the assailant and took asylum in a nearby house. The victim had given tips about the appearance of the assailant. Police used CCTV clippings to nab the culprit. Dog squads and fingerprint experts have gathered. She is recovering in a hospital.
