US, Iran to sign peace deal on Sunday: Trump

Kochi: The US and Iran will sign a deal to end the aggression in the Middle East on Sunday, President Donald Trump has said.
The Strait of Hormuz would be “open to all” once the deal is agreed, Trump said in a post on social media, BBC reported.
“We will have to wait and see about the exact date of the signing of the memorandum of understanding, although it will not be tomorrow,” Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said before Trump’s comments.
In an apparent reference to Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles, Trump said that “at the appropriate time, when all is calm, we will go in and get the Nuclear Dust”, adding it would later be destroyed.
The agreement envisaged an end to the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, he said.
The deal included reopening the Strait of Hormuz and also the lifting of a US blockade of Iranian ports, Araghchi told Iran’s state TV.
Iran’s nuclear programme would begin later, he said.
The US and Israeli started targeting Iran on February 28 leading to retaliation in the Gulf by Tehran which closed the Strait of Hormuz.
The US too took control of Hormuz firing missiles at ships passing through the world’s key oil and liquefied natural gas route.
