Kochi: Over 800 people have died in the massive earthquake of 6.0 that hit
mountainous Kunar province eastern Afghanistan late on Sunday, BBC reported.
The earthquake blocked roads making rescue operations extremely difficult due to which rescue operations were carried out by air.
Many are still feared to be trapped under the rubble, while officials report entire villages being destroyed
The Taliban appealed for international aid. The UK has pledged £1m in relief funding.
The quake struck at a depth of 8km shaking buildings from Kabul to Pakistan.
