Kochi: Amidst local body polls, Congress is in the middle of trouble after police started probe on a sexual abuse allegations by a woman against Congress leader Rahul Mamkootathil, MLA, in Kerala, media reports said.
The probe on the matter began after the complainant met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and filed a complaint against the youth leader.
Rahul Mamkootathil reacted on facebook by saying that he would take legal remedy to the issue.
The allegations emerged against the legislator after an audio clip between Mamkootathil and a woman and purported chat screenshots surfaced online.
Mamkootathil had quit as Youth Congress state president following previous allegations and was later suspended from the Congress.
Rahul campaigned for Congress candidates during local body polls despite the suspension.
