Kochi: Sonia Gandhi of BJP is contesting from Nallathanni ward in hill station of Munnar in the local bodies elections in Kerala, Manorama reported.
Daughter of a Congress leader Durai Raj, Sonia Gandhi,34, got the name as her father’s respect for former Congress President.
Things changed when she migrated to the saffron party after marrying Subhash who is a BJP leader.
Subhash had even contested an earlier bypoll from Old Munnar Mulakkad.
Sonia is fighting against Manjula Ramesh of the Congress and Valarmati of the CPI(M).
Kerala local body elections are scheduled to take place in two phases on December 9 and 11 across the state’s 941 gram panchayats, 152 block panchayats, 14 district panchayats, 87 municipalities, and six corporations.
