Kochi: Actor Dileep’s businessman friend Sharath G Nair has been arrested in connection with the actor assault case of 2017.
The arrest was based on the charges of destroying evidence in the case.
Owner of a hotel, Sharath is sixth accused in the conspiracy to harm police officials who probed the case in 2017 leading to the arrest of Dileep.
The investigation team had found his involvement in destroying the evidence when they were probing the conspiracy case.
He was summoned to Aluva police club where he was questioned for two hours.
Investigation into Sharat began after Director Balachandra Kumar made revelations against Sharath.
Kumar had submitted to police a huge number of digital evidence collected by him when he had visited Dileep’s house to discuss about a film.
