Kochi: The Kerala High Court granted conditional bail to actor Sreejit Ravi in a case of exhibitionism in front of minor children in Thrissur in Kerala.
The court said continued detention is not warranted and that conditions needed to be imposed on him to prevent further recurrence of such incidents.
The court said that his wife and father should give an affidavit before court undertaking the responsibility to prevent recurrence of similar incidents in future.
The police had arrested him on the basis of the complaint of the minors who accused him of exhibitionism. He was arrested under POCSO on July 4.
Earlier, he had prayed for bail before the Additional District Session’s court in Thrissur by claiming that he was being treated for behavioural disorder and submitted papers to support his claims.
However, the court rejected his plea.
Following this Sreejit moved the Kerala High Court challenging the lower court order.
Sreejit was arrested in a similar case in Palakkad in 2016 and was out by securing a bail.
