Adopted infant to undergo DNA test soon

Kochi: In a major relief to Anupama, efforts are on to speed up testing of the parentage of the infant boy whom she claims to be her son allegedly displaced by her father P S Jayachandran who is a CPM leader.

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) has directed Kerala State Council for Child Welfare (KSCCW) to carry out the tests within five days.

A special juvenile unit of the Kerala police has been created to securely bring the over one year old infant to Kerala from Andhra Pradesh where the boy is said to be under the care of a childless couple.

Anupama is continuing her protest in front of the KSCCW office in support of her demands in Thiruvananthapuram which includes expulsion of its chairperson N Sunanda and General Secretary Shiju Khan whom she accuses of helping her family displace her son.

Last year Anupama begot the child through her partner Ajith who was married and was from another religion which was not to the liking of her parents.

Anupama alleged that she was made to sign on a few papers without knowing that they were the documents for separating her from her son.

Anupama’s parents and others have secured anticipatory bail in the case filed by Anupama.

Ajith separated from his first wife in January this year. Anupama and Ajith are strong communist leaders.
