Kochi: Terrorists struck at a police check post martyring an ASI Mushtaq Ahmed and injuring two others at Srinagar on Tuesday.
The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
The terrorists fired at the check post at Lal Bazar. When retaliated, they escaped following which the security forces have started combing operation.
Top officials of the security forces and police have reached the spot. The attack comes amidst the Union Home Minister holding regular meetings with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Army Chief Manoj Pande.
Shah had instructed the security agencies to ensure zero intrusion of terrorists from Pakistan.
The security has been tightened in the region to ensure a safe Amarnath Yatra.
