Kochi: In a major announcement, Twenty20 and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have decided to field a candidate in the Thrikkakara by elections on May 31.
The Kizhakkambalam-based Twenty20, floated by world’s leading readymade exporter Sabu Jacob, held talks with AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal in this regard.
A decision on the candidate will be made at a public function at Kizhakkambalam May15, Sabu told a leading Malayalam online.
A consensus candidate would be fielded in Trikkakkara, he said.
The coalition would not make any promises, but would highlight the achievements made by the two.
Twenty20 is not against development but not at the cost of the livelihood of the people, he said.
P T Thomas of Congress had won the seat in the 2021 assembly polls. Thomas’ death on December 22 necessitated the bipoll.
