Kochi: Congress-led I.N.D.I.A received a major blow in four out of five states in the Assembly polls except Kerala where it performed outstandingly winning 102 out of 144 seats ousting Left front which got 36 seats backed by Muslim League.
BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) made history by winning three seats in Kerala, bettering its previous tally of one seat won by former Union Minister O Rajagopal in 2016.
Congress led UDF made a commendable comeback in Kerala after remaining out for a decade.
NDA made history in West Bengal where it scripted a maiden victory by leading 200 out of 294 seats ousting All India Trinamool Congress led by firebrand leader Mamata Banerjee who could fetch only 87 seats for her party.
The NDA was voted back to power in Puducherry went for NDA with 20 seats while Congress won 7 and three went to newly formed TVK floated by actor turned politician Joseph Vijay whose party leading in 108 in Tamil Nadu where DMK got 73 and NDA 53 seats.
