Kochi: A court in Pathanamthitta in Kerala has sentenced 15 PFI activists to death for killing RSS leader and lawyer Ranjith Sreenivasan, media reports said.
The Mavelikkara Additional Sessions court said the case was the rarest of rare case.
A member of the BJP Kerala Committee and Kerala secretary of the BJP OBC Morcha (State), Sreenivasan Ranjith, contested unsuccessfully as BJP candidate from Alappuzha in the 2016 assembly election.
Sreenivasan was brutally killed by the convicts members in front of his family members in his house in Vellakinar, Alappuzha, on December 19, 2021.
The convicts are Naizam, Ajmal, Anoop, Muhammed Aslam, Salam Ponnad, Abdul Kalam, Safarudheen, Munshad, Jaseeb Raja, Navas, Shemeer, Naseer, Zakeer Hussain, Shaji Poovathingal and Shernas Ashraf, the reports said.
