High time for temple entry reforms in TN

Madurai: Legendary singer Yesudas gets a red carpet welcome at Mookambika temple and Tirupati but is denied entry into Guruvayoor Sree Krishna temple.

But Yesudas is one who would not sulk on such things as he is contented in invoking god through his renditions in Poonthanam auditorium outside the temple.

Interestingly, noted Bharatnatyam dancer Zakir Hussain used to visit Srirangam temple frequently before being stopped by an individual in December last year. The person  was neither a police officer nor a temple administration staff.

Hussain lodged a complaint against the individual with the Commissioner of police, Tiruchirapalli and the matter is now before the DMK government which has a broad outlook in such matters.

The atheist DMK government would do everything possible to ensure that all who have true belief in god or are tourists are allowed to visit temples unhindered.

This would also help the government to increase its revenue similar to the one at Tirupati where there is no discrimination.
People of all hues enter Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple in Madurai except a few locations without any restrictions.

Sadly, the communist government in Kerala is watching such things helplessly as it is still licking its wounds suffered during the Sabarimala women entry episode.
