ED attack: No bail to 5 CPM workers

Kochi: A court in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday refused bail to five accused who attacked ED officials for raiding former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s house in a money laundering case against his daughter Veena Vijayan.
The Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate Court rejected the bail application of Nithinraj, Manoj, Jeevan, Sreejith and Shaheen observing that the charges against them were grave.
The accused are booked under charges including attempt to murder, obstructing the execution of official duty among others.
The prosecution argued in court that the accused should not be granted bail as the investigation is in an early stage while the Defence rejected the accusations.
Meanwhile, six more accused in the case were arrested on Friday night taking the total number of those arrested to 25.
