Kochi: Nine terror suspects allegedly planning attacks at “critical installations, security personnel, and religious places” in Delhi were nabbed on Saturday.
The Special Cell of Delhi Police busted the terror module linked to the Dawood Ibrahim network and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the Times of India reported.
Arms, hand grenades and explosive materials were recovered and they were neutralised.
According to sources, the module was developed over a long period by Pakistan’s intelligence establishment with the objective of carrying out strikes.
The arrested individuals reportedly include Nepalis who were part of the network.
Investigators said there were suspected operational links between the accused and Pakistan-backed handlers, as well as operatives associated with the Mumbai underworld network.
The Delhi Police was in a major overhaul of its counter-terrorism framework in the wake of heightened security concerns following Operation Sindoor.
