India lifts Asia Cup in style

Kochi: India thrashed defending champions Sri Lanka mercilessly to lift the Asia Cup in Colombo today.
In the one-sided final, India bowled out the host for a paltry 50 which is the lowest ODI total made by Sri Lanka against India which is lifting the cup for eighth time. Last time India won the cup was in 2018.
It was speedster Mohammed Siraj who ripped through the Sri Lanka team with his deadly bowling. He took 6 for 21.
Mohammed Siraj picked 6 for 21 as Sri Lanka were bowled out for 50 in the final. India chased the target of 51.m in 6.1 overs. Hardik Pandya picked the last three wickets, including two off two balls. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to vote.
This is India’s biggest winning margin in terms of balls remaining in ODI. The previous best was against Kenya in 2001, where they chased down a target of 91 with 231 balls to spare.
The play was delayed by 40 minutes due rains.
Mohammed Siraj’s 6 for 21 is also the fourth best ODI figures by an Indian bowler after Stuart Binny (6 for 4), Anil Kumble (6 for 12) and Jasprit Bumrah (6 for 19). Sri Lanka’s 50 all out is now their second lowest total in ODIs and the lowest ever recorded by any team against India in ODI.
